I have been building database-driven business applications for more than two decades.

My professional journey started with Oracle Database, SQL and PL/SQL, and over the years expanded into Oracle APEX, cloud platforms and, more recently, AI-assisted application development.

The technologies have changed significantly, but the core challenge has remained remarkably similar:

how to turn business data and processes into reliable, maintainable software.

My journey

Oracle Database and business applications

For most of my career, Oracle Database has been at the center of the systems I build.

My work has included data modelling, SQL and PL/SQL development, integrations, back-office systems and enterprise applications where data quality, reliability and maintainability matter.

Oracle APEX

Oracle APEX gradually became one of my primary application development platforms.

I use APEX to build data-intensive business applications on top of Oracle Database and to modernize older enterprise systems without unnecessarily increasing the complexity of the technology stack.

Over the years, I have also shared my experience through articles, tutorials, conference sessions and community events.

Moving to the cloud

My move from traditional Oracle infrastructure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Autonomous Database was a gradual process.

Instead of treating cloud as a completely new world, I approached it as the next stage in the evolution of Oracle-based application architecture.

I have documented parts of this journey, including my transition to Oracle Autonomous Transaction Processing and my experience learning OCI.

AI and the future of development

Since 2023, I have been exploring how generative AI changes application development.

My main interest is not simply generating code faster.

I am particularly interested in how AI can work with enterprise data, Oracle Database and low-code development while keeping applications structured, maintainable and governable.

This includes technologies and approaches such as Oracle Select AI, generative AI with private data, AI-assisted Oracle APEX development and APEXlang.

Oracle community

I am an Oracle ACE Pro with a focus on Oracle APEX and database development.

I regularly share technical content, speak at Oracle community events and help organize Oracle APEX community activities in Budapest.

This site brings together selected articles, tutorials, talks and lessons learned from that journey.
